The bane of my life, algebra two gives me the daily gift of a killer migraine. I’m a freshman in high school, and this is the highest possible math I can take. I’m ‘advanced’… Never before has that word brought me so much agony. Yesterday my teacher gave the class a problem to do at home. He told us to make a video showing how the problem is to be solved, with dialogue, and so I did. I went ahead and made the video… Then found a mistake. Again and again I made that dumb video until I was certain I’d done it right, and I was going to get the bonus points he’d offered us… And then I got an email.
“There’s a problem with your x’s,” it read. “Fix that and make a new video and you’ll be good.”‘
I died to death when I read that. I was devastated and furious and determined to get it right! I just hope I have enough time… It was supposed to be done by today in class. He told me to make another video, though… So perhaps he’ll give me the time necessary to make it, tonight. Here’s to hoping!
Aside from that, life is good. I’ve got high grades in all my classes, algebra aside, and I’m happy. I cleaned up my room and now it looks great, and I have loads of pictures of my characters all over the wall. I got rid of a lot of my crappy yarn and organized the parts of my room that made me unhappy. In addition, I spent a lot of time yesterday researching things that will affect my future- where I’ll go to cosmetology school, where my apartment will be, where I will work, and what I need for my apartment. All of these things are good to consider, and made me feel very mature… Also,I made a decision yesterday. I’m going to graduate from high school early, so I can get time to acclimate to out of school life before I move to Portland with my friend. Although the idea of graduating early is sorta stressful right now, it also fills me with hope because I know that the sooner I graduate, the sooner my ‘real’ life will begin.
Also, guess what? Tomorrow is November 1st! November is like, national writing month. So if you’re a writer, prepare to write until you’re hands fall off! I challenge you to do one of two things- do a writing prompt every day for the whole month, no exceptions, or write a 50,000 word story, which you have to finish before midnight of November 30. Are you up to the challenge? Anyone who shows me valid evidence that they’ve done one of these two things will get a hand done drawing from me of a character of your choice. I draw animals, humans, anthros, and ponies. Interested? Good. Now get to work!
See my last blog post for some links to good writing prompts if you’re stuck. That’s all for now. Enjoy your November!
